While it is not a legal requirement to have car seats installed by “a professional” in New Zealand, it is important that as suppliers and retailers we are competent, and confident to: provide impartial advice on child restraints install child restraints safely and within correct guidelines This course is compiled using the current Child Restraint Technician manual provided by Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency. As of September 2013 there remains a pathway to become a qualified Child Restraint Technician.
